WHAT IS POSITIVELY NEWPORT SCHOOLS?

Positively Newport Schools (PNS) is a group of Newport residents supporting our Public Education System. Many members of PNS have children attending Newport Public Schools.

Positively Newport Schools is an active public voice asking for municipal commitment to education. High quality public education is a civic responsibility, a citizen's right, and a source of future leaders.

Positively Newport Schools will organize citywide action and events to help draw the community together to express school support.

Positively Newport Schools aims to work closely with the City Council, the School Committee, Newport Public School administrators, teachers and students to bring about public awareness regarding school needs.

Positively Newport Schools will promote activities within the city schools as part of an ongoing effort to show the positive picture of the Newport Schools. Our citywide public relations goal is to stimulate informed discussion about current and future education plans in the community.
